Roughly 2,500 people across dispersed Ndwedwe wards who currently rely on multiple informal crossings with no formal structure.

What has happened at this site

Erosion and siltation were documented across these crossings after the 2022 floods. Learner river-crossing hardship in rural KZN prompted provincial Department of Education intervention in 2020.

Public benefit when complete

Ends seasonal isolation for several wards at once, giving 600 children safe school access and connecting dispersed homesteads to clinic services.
