What does the impact score measure?

Every site is scored 1 to 5 on the same four measures, by the same team, using the same evidence. Those four are weighted and converted to a score out of 100, so any two projects on this page can be compared directly.

Life-safety carries the most weight because drowning risk is the reason most of these sites reach us at all. Cost-efficiency carries the least: it decides the order we build in, never whether a community deserves a crossing.
